Is Google going to stop Web Casino Portals?

The Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act bill, similar to the Wire Act, does not target players for gambling online. It targets only institutions such as banks, credit card companies and online cash deposit services that process such bets.

It also permits state and federal regulators to shut down Internet casinos and may even be empowered to stop Internet ads and portals. We are waiting with interest to see what will happen to Google and what they will do where it pertains to all web casino portals that promote such ads.

On Sept. 29, the United States Congress passed the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 as part of an overall port security bill. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn., spearheaded the effort to gain passage of the measure before Congress recessed for the upcoming November elections.
